Finding your way to Gouda
By Rail
There are direct connections to Gouda from Den Haag, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam and Leiden. Gouda Central Station is only a 10-minute walk from the city centre. Just leave the station at the city centre end, direction Kleiwegplein. Cross the bridge into the Kleiweg and continue to the Hoogstraat. Right at the end you will see the Markt and its fine City Hall; venue for all events.
By Road
The main roads to Gouda are:
- A12 from Rotterdam/Den Haag and Utrecht. You enter the city either via the Bolwerk or via the road along the railway track in the direction of Kleiwegplein. You can park for instance in the Potterspoort grounds, Schouwburgplein or slightly further on down the Blekersingel in Klein Amerika.
- N207 from Schoonhoven/Bergambacht and N228 from Oudewater. You enter the city by way of the Stolwijkersluis bridge. Proceed to the centre via the Fluwelensingel and you will see the Klein Amerika parking grounds to your right.
- N207 from Alphen a/d Rijn. Follow the road along the canal to arrive at the Potterspoort parking grounds. If you follow the road along the railway track you can choose as in “A12”.
In many places there are signs indicating locations and numbers of vacant parking places. Payment for all parking options is on leaving. Then there is the city centre garage parking, reached by crossing the Kleiwegplein bridge and turning left. This facility naturally charges the highest parking rates and quickly fills up during events.
By Bus
Gouda bus transport is run by Connexxion Openbaar Vervoer, tel. +31 (0)900-2666399 (€ 0.10 p/min.) or www.connexxion.nl.
Tip: The Gouda “Euroretour” return ticket will bring you to and from each destination within Gouda for as little as € 1. Tickets can always be obtained from the bus driver and are valid from 09.00 hrs on weekdays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
